Spray lubricant rubbing alcohol and dry cleaning fluid are all candidates but be sure to test first.
Remove duct tape residue from carpet.
Gently rub the fibers with the soft cloth to remove the residue.
Finally apply a carpet cleaner such as goo gone to finish the clean up.
The warm water will soften the tape so it can be removed with a sponge or cloth.
Continue working with clean areas of the cloth until all of the residue is gone.
To remove duct tape residue try using the edge of a credit card.
Wearing rubber gloves gently rub the fibers of the carpet to work in the cleaner and loosen the residue.

Next dab the wd 40 onto the remaining adhesive.
Wear gloves to protect your skin and spray the surface entirely then wait a few seconds before using your gloved finger to smooth away duct tape residue.
Hold the edge parallel to the surface you are working on and slowly scrape up the tape residue with it.
I even bought duct tape remover from duct tape company.
Then scrape the carpet again to remove as much of the adhesive as possible.
Then wash away the remaining oil with.
Move onto the next section and repeat the process above.
Let it set on the carpet for 15 minutes.

Just scrub the residue with the damp cloth using circular motions until it comes off.
You can also remove duct tape residue using a washcloth and warm water.
It took about 90 minutes.
First scrape the carpet with a plastic knife or paint scraper to remove as much tape as possible.
