Revit 2018 Cut Extruded Roof

You can join a roof to the top face of another roof and the wall below that roof if you select the wall as the target.

Specify the work plane. Click architecture tab build panel roof drop down roof by extrusion. Valid boundaries are a joined roof or its bottom face a side face of a wall a bottom face of a floor an edge of the roof to be cut or a model line on the face of the roof to be cut. If the go to view dialog displays select the appropriate plan view in which to edit the profile.

The wall must be attached to the target roof and the target roof must be a footprint roof. In the roof reference level and offset dialog select a value for level. Valid boundaries are highlighted. Creates a roof by extruding a profile that you sketch.

Determine the length of the void ideally in 3d view at wireframe mode extend this in order to intersect the roof surface that will be cut use the cut geometry command and select first the roof than the void. After that you can click finish to execute the cut. You can join roofs to other roofs or walls or unjoin them if they were previously joined. I can t seem to cut out the roof where the walls of the 2nd floor extrude up past the roof. Closed loop sketches in sketch mode click.
