I m wondering can you replace the drop in sink with an undermount sink without replacing the granite.
Replace sink granite countertop.
We have granite countertops in our kitchen bathrooms.
After that bolt the countertop pieces together slide them against the wall and scribe the backsplash.
My backsplash is also granite and behind the stovetop.
I want to switch out the sink for a single basin but i have been told by a couple of plumbers removing the old sink would probably break the granite.
Depending on the sink s installation style you will need to remove caulk and possibly loosen.
Either overmounted or undermounted based on how they attach to the granite.
The thing with an under mount sink with a granite countertop however is that once the granite is cut the sink stays and if you choose so for a very long time.
Any advice would be appreciated.

But what if you feel the need to replace the undermount sink for one reason or another.
Would it be possible to have the granite cut and drop out the old sink and replace or cut a new hole for a single bowl sink.
Obviously i know the sink would have to be the same size as the drop in or larger.

However you may want to remove your sink from the granite countertop to repair or replace it.
To replace countertops first detach all energy supply lines and remove the sink range and old countertops.
There is now way i could match the granite i have to just replace where the sink is.
Regardless of the mounting you can remove a sink from your granite countertop on your own but you ll need to be patient and careful to protect the stone.
