Remove the exterior doorknob or lock face.
Rekey master door lock.
To allow for entry using your original and master keys change the pins in the lock mechanisms in each door.
If there are screws in the doorknob loosen and remove them with a screwdriver to remove the knob.
Insert the pins and reassemble the lock dump out the old pins insert the new key and use tweezers or small needle nose pliers to match the new colored pins to the color code on the special instruction sheet.
Use the key in the kit as the master key.
Unless a lock is malfunctioning or a totally different style is desired many locks can be rekeyed and kept in service operating as well or better than ever.

Once the new pins are in reverse the steps to reassemble the lock.
In rekeying a lock the locksmith removes the pins and springs in the lock cylinder and replaces them with new pins and springs that work with a new and different key.
